sweet serenity

This painting was given as a hostess gift to a friend of mine expecting her first child. They are not finding out the sex of the baby and she is soooo close to delivery! This nursery is gorgeous.....so serene and chic. Can't wait to meet the blessed little bundle that will call it home.

newbies

I have got to get a before and after of the room this piece is in. Somehow my sweet friend with three small children has done a major over haul on her dining room and it looks great!

I have been so blessed to have lots of recent projects. A couple of super large pieces, some landscapes and a trio of panels for a stairway landing area. I am loving getting to work with people on the vision they have for a particular space.

This trio was a lot of fun because I had never done anything like it and the house they were going in is fabulous so it was a good challenge. I really want to do another grouping soon!

thankfully, a repeat offender!

I was so flattered to be contacted about doing a large piece for a newlywed's living room but the real flattering part was that she already owned several pieces of mine (and I have never met her personally). Of course my friends and family are sweet enough to support my hobby and even a few of them have multiple pieces but this was my first repeat purchaser for genuinely liking the content of my work. She was so easy to work with and through photos of her space and her description I was able to create this piece which is 48 x 60.

My sweet Annie was a lot of help in her Christmas PJs.

These are a few of the other pieces that she owns.

hot off the press

This is the latest painting I completed last week. I sure hope they really like it because I have never seen their home.....although I love what I can see in the pictures!

Several people have asked if I had a website or blog, well honestly, I don't even have decent pictures of my pieces!!! I am going to start doing better but for now most of these were snapped on my cell phone either as I delivered them to the client or in the garage studio with a baby on my hip. I have  found a passion for painting and have really enjoyed sharing my work with others. Most of these were done specifically for someone, therefore the colors and size were determined by the client. I can always work with any look and the bigger the better! I love the transformation that occurs from a giant blank canvas to a work of art. The first group below all have the look of a "horizon." Most definitely abstract but could give a sense of looking at a skyline.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions.256-318-5607 or ginnyvick1@aol.com

The next collection reminds me of a cityscape. The one with pinks and grays is for a sweet baby girls nursery.

I am loving the latest group that I have been working on because they remind me so much of the south. I have called them "down south" or "the duck hole" because that's what they remind me of.  Once again, horrible pictures but maybe you can get the idea.

This group has worked well in most rooms and the largest was purchased for an office building.

My nests started when I found out I was expecting my sweet Annie and wanted something for her nursery that symbolized my three girls but was not too girly and over-the-top. A piece I could use in other rooms as well.  I have sense then done several for other families with multiple children.

This was a piece that like most of them...really took on a look other than what I originally had in mind doing the first strokes. Every piece begins to take its own shape and usually changes direction on me but this one went totally "beachy" and ended up being purchased for a recently renovated condo. Love how it looks!
